In this folder there are collected a set of tools useful to convert custom data types to the standard ILCSoft types (LCIO) and to store those data in LCIO file or in the condition database. A description of each of these tools follows. #----------- ConvertStoreAltroPedestal ---------------# Tool to convert a ASCII pedestal file from ALTRO DAQ into LCIO format: either to a simple file or writing the collection into a LCCD database. The input file(s) should have the format: #RCUID 0 #*PCA 00800000 #*EVENTS 1208 #*RUN 17689 0 93 93.855 0.850 78936 1 103 103.746 0.907 78936 2 95 95.438 0.930 78936 3 114 114.267 0.921 78936 4 88 88.247 0.925 78936 5 108 108.794 0.878 78936 6 107 107.812 0.888 78936 ... Format: channel (int)pedestal (float)pedestal pedestal_width (int) The option exists, to translate the hardware channel/RCU mapping into the Gear channel mapping (pad id and module id), if a channel mapping entry in a database already exists. For this the optional "-M" option is used, with a separate connection string for the database different from the one used to write the pedestal data into. Usage: To write data to a LCIO simple file: ConvertStoreAltroPedestal -S outfile \ [-M connectionstring folder timeStamp] \ pedestalfile.txt [pedestalfile.txt [pedestalfile.txt ... ]] To write data to a database: ConvertStoreAltroPedestal -D connectionString folder startLCIOTimeStamp endLCIOTimeStamp \ [-M connectionstring folder timeStamp] \ pedestalfile.txt [pedestalfile.txt [pedestalfile.txt ... ]] -M option reads in channelmapping from a database and translates hardware channel and rcu into padID and moduleID from Gear Formats: Text file: hwChannel intPedestal floatPedestal floatPedestalWidth integer Connection String: hostname:database:login:password[:port] folder: /database/folder LCIO time stamp: nano seconds since 1.1.1970 00:00:00 #------------------ ConvertAltroraw2lcio --------------------# This program converts altro raw data to LCIO data in the slcio format. The program requires at least one input file name. If the -I option is not set the program assumes the last argument is the input file name Each of the input files must be the first of the data files produced by the DAQ, which contains the start of run data block. If any of the input file names has the format _0.dat, the program will attempt to load all the other files with the same prefix and increasing counter located in the same folder. Files that are not named sequentially as described above are considered as single data files of uncorrelated runs and will be converted separately. If the option -O is not specified or if the number of output file names is less than the number of input file names each input files that doesn't have a matching output file name will be written to an slcio file whose name is obtained substituting the input file extension or adding the .slcio extension in case of no extension in the input file SYNOPSIS ConvertAltroraw2lcio INPUTFILE OUTPUTFILE ConvertAltroraw2lcio [options] INPUTFILE[INPUTFILES ...] ConvertAltroraw2lcio [options] OPTIONS -I FILES List of input file names. See the description for more information -O OUTPUTFILES List of the output file name to create. Each output file will be matched with an input file. -S Uses the LCIO Split Writer. The LCIO Split Writer only support one run per process. Multiple file input is disabled. -s Uses the standard LCWriter. Conversion of multiple run are allowed but no check on the output file size is performed. -D DBInit Enables the program to upload the electronics information to the database. It REQUIRES the CondDB initialization string as argument in the form host:databasename:login:password[:port]. -G GenericElectronicInfoDBFolder Defines the path to the folder where to store the GenericElectronic Condition Data.If this option is not defined and the database is to be used, a default name is set. Path format: /database/folder -E ExtendedElectronicInfoDBFolder Defines the path to the folder where to store the ExtendedElectronic Condition Data.If this option is not defined and the database is to be used, a default name is set Path format: /database/folder
